Midwest exercise pens with step-thur doors are now available in two finish options and are constructed from 9 & 11 gauge wire with a 1.5″ x 6″ mesh. For starters, this will include professional, heavy-duty Suitcase Crates by Precision Pet Products as well as their Great Crates which are available in two finish choices. Expect new soft crates, kennels, dog houses and more in the near future.

Pet portraits make wonderful gifts and look great with a mat and frame. Danielle is offering two sizes including a standard 4″ x 6″ photo size for easy framing and the popular artist trading card size of 2.5″ x 3.5″. I call DNA (Danielle Armbruster) our “resident artist” because she is actually my daughter, though it has been many years since she actually resided with me. Not unlike other young, creative types, Danielle discovered long ago that a “traditional” job does not suite her personality. And like many aspiring artists, this means that she frequently has trouble making ends meet. She has sold a number of her paintings and is working hard to find galleries and/or shows in which she might showcase her work and gain further exposure.Danielle is completely self-taught, having begun her endeavors at a very young age. She won her first art competition at age 10 and hopes that she might find art school in her future. Knowing that she is talented and quick with graphite(the medium with which she has the most experience) I encouraged her to consider adding pet portraits as a viable source of additional income. She astounds me with her life-like portrayals and I am sure that should you commission her for your pet’s portrait, you will be astounded, too. You will not find an artist more appreciate of your purchase and support as she undertakes transforming her natural talents into her livelihood.

We have recently added several newer lines of dog crates offered by Midwest. The Icrate Series is an economical, medium duty dog crate series that is available in both single door and double door versions.
Customers will want to understand the differences between the ICrate Series and the hugely popular Life Stages Series. While both series are considered medium duty, the ICrate might be classified as “good” with the Life Stages being “better”. This would be attributed to the fact that the ICrate series will be slightly smaller in size and will have some differences in the wire mesh (size of space between wires – overall generally slightly tighter on the Life Stages versus the ICrates). If your pet is docile and tends towards the smaller size for his particular breed, then the ICrate would be suitable. If your pet is a taller breed or tends towards the larger size for the particular breed, then the Life Stages would be the better choice.
The second recent addition is the Select Triple Door Dog Crate Series. The Select Crates are heavy duty and comparable to the Life Stages Ultima Series. The Select Series features a fleck tone pewter finish and removable doors. Purchase a select triple door dog crate and receive a FREE Crate Training DVD ,too.

Midwest recently made available for purchase separately, the plush chenille bed that comes with the model 130 cat playpen. One is included with the playpen and now you can purchase additional beds for the other two shelves. You can find the beds now listed on the page with the cat playpens. The beds are camel chenille and include a non-skid backing as well as velco straps to attach easily to the shelves.

Midwest replacement floor grids for puppy playpens have been added to the
puppy playpens page. Now if you have a need for both 1/2″ and 1″ grids you can simply purchase an extra grid to trade out in your playpen. Breeders of multiple breeds will find this useful as it eliminates the need to purchase an entire playpen just to get the different size grid.
